Doing the paperwork

When you move to a new country there’s a lot of paperwork to fill in. Before we got here there were visa applications, shipping forms and tax forms. On the plane there was a landing card and a customs form. And since being here we’ve had to fill in Social Security forms and bank account forms.  To rent a house we’ll need to write an application form. Forms forms forms. And I’m sure there will be many more to come.

We’re still house hunting but no luck yet. I think we underestimated how much we’d need to spend to get somewhere decent in a nice neighbourhood. So we’re upping the budget a bit – we’re still hoping to have somewhere by Christmas but might need to work on a plan B in the meantime.

I’ll leave you now with some photos I took from the hotel balcony a couple of days ago…
