What a way to make a living

Amongst the house hunting, bank account opening and eating too much, Ben has been settling in to his new office surroundings. This is the first time he’s worked in an office since leaving BT five years ago and I think he likes it so far; it makes a change to spend the day sitting with humans rather than a furry little Toby-dog.

Ben in his cube

Hand-in-hand with working in an office, in a city, is the daily commute. Ben’s previous commute involved rolling out of bed, having a shower, eating breakfast, getting dressed (in a style similar to that we all imagine newsreaders wearing: smart shirt and tie and scruffy trackie bottoms – never just boxers though you’ll be glad to know!), and walking across the landing to his office. The only snarl-up being a very enthusiastic and bouncy Yorkshire Terrier getting under his feet. Now he has to contemplate freeways, traffic jams and rush hours.

But, hey, the view ain’t half bad when you finally reach the office.

Love me x
